i know in the last post i told all of my fine readers that "land of the Never Setting Sun" was almost finished, but it's still in the works. a lot has happened since i last updated. I am engaged to a beautiful and Godly woman named Hanah Rose Kane. We are to be wed on the eighth of July in Manistee, Michigan. We are going to Rome, Italy for 8 days on our honeymoon, and probably Tuscany (if it's anywhere near as beautiful as my Tuscany calendar, then i can die a happy man). i have written a few more lines to "Land of....", and i feel like it's the best song i've ever written. I don't feel so bad for taking so long writing this one, because good things take time, or so i'm told.

"The Land of the Never-Setting Sun"

What's beyond that which I can see?

Over the horizon, i swear i see another land!

This i must know; where does paradise lie,

And what exsists beyond the sunset?

-chorus-

I want to be where the sun never sets,

Where the wind is but a hushed breeze-

Where clouds are little more that shade from the sun.

Where the music is soothing, and each note holds a story.

Where the pain is shallow, and it merely makes you stronger!

-postchorus-

Speak to me in a way that one heart would cry out to another-

and whisper to me like the wind gives language to the trees.

at the moment this is all i have, but i am in the process of writing more.

Peace, be still

New Easterlies song,  "In  the Land of the Never-Setting Sun" is almost finished, as far as the writing process goes. i showed the song to the other half of the Easterlies today, and he seemed to enjoy it. recycling songs that you thought would never see the light of day again is a refreshing way to write. it gives a feeling of accomplishment, and closure. "Aurora Borealis and the Winds That Cause Tides" is seeming more and more fitting as an album title as i write. Previously mentioned member will be moving back home for the summer soon, so expect great things from The Easterlies, and we'll try not to let you be disappointed and/or disgusted.

To get an idea of what the Easterlies is about, imagine waking from a dream and mourning the death of someone who you've grown to know and love, but who is nonetheless a character in a story about trying to find paradise by oneself. it can't be done, paradise is not a place to be found, but a place to be lead to. now imagine that all the time you're in mourning, you become more aware of your tropical surroundings, and as you sit in the sun-kissed sand, the waves gently lick at your toes. the smells of the hibiscus and bromeliad flowers are overwhelming, and you realize that even in mourning, there is hope.

The Easterlies present to you hope.

"The Love Song of the Islands"

The sequence is ending, you're just waking up

You thought you were dreaming, but when you awake,

You're still in paradise.

The palm tress never dies on this island

the sun goes down, but the sand is always warm

the air is cool and fragrant with the tropical flowers in bloom.

This is the love song of the islands!

Hope to you,

 E

The Easterlies are made up of N and T, who play and write in the AP, and previously carried the same duties in E, alongside A.N.. We are currently in the writing process, we have about 5 songs written for the album that we wish to release, entitled "Aurora Borealis and the Winds That Cause Tides". The album will tell a story, from beginning to end, about a journey on the sea in search of paradise. We will keep you updated on all things Easterlies.
